Website terms of use

Last updated

These terms cover using this website. They are about the site itself: what it is for, what you can do with it and what you can rely on. Trading with us is a separate document, and this page says which is which.

1. About these terms

This site is published by Refresh Surplus Ltd, a surplus stock brokerage registered in England and Wales (Company No. 15565781) at 4th Floor, 14 Museum Place, Cardiff CF10 3BH. Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

These terms cover the website and nothing else. Buying stock from us, selling stock to us and the referral programme are governed by our terms of business, together with the written offer for that deal. Where a deal is concerned, those documents govern and this one does not.

2. Using the site

The site is here to explain what we buy, how the desk works and how to reach us, and to give you a way in: a stock list, a buyer registration or a referral. You are welcome to read it, print it, link to it and quote it.

Reading it with software is welcome too. We publish a summary for agents at /llms.txt, the full surface at /llms-full.txt, and a Markdown copy of every page at its own address plus ".md". Those exist so that people and machines read the same copy, so nothing here restricts automated reading of pages we publish openly.

What we do ask you not to do:

  • No attacks or disruption. No attempt to overload, interfere with or damage the site, the server it runs on or anyone else's use of it.
  • No breaking security. No probing for vulnerabilities, no bypassing the checks on our forms, and no access to anything on the site that is not published for you.
  • Nothing unlawful. No use of the site to break the law, to defraud anyone, to impersonate a person or a business, or to send anything malicious through it.

If you think you have found a security problem, tell us at [email protected] rather than testing how far it goes.

3. Content and accuracy

What we publish here is general information about the business. It is not an offer to buy or to sell anything, and nothing on the site forms a contract. The categories, conditions and stock examples describe the kind of work we do; they are indicative, not a live list of what is on the floor today.

Nothing on the site is a guarantee of price, of availability or of how long anything takes. Figures published in our marketing are what we aim for, not a commitment we have made to you. The written offer for a deal is the only place we commit to anything, and it says what it covers.

We keep the site accurate and current as best we can, but we do not warrant that it is complete or error free. Please do not make a business decision on the strength of a page alone. Ask us.

4. Our content

The text, images, design and brand on this site belong to us or are used with permission. The Refresh Surplus name and logo are ours, and using them to represent yourself or another business is not something these terms allow.

You may read, save, print and share the content for your own or your organisation's internal use, and you may quote it with credit and a link. What we ask you not to do is republish it as your own, sell it, or present it in a way that suggests we endorse you.

That applies to the Markdown copies exactly as it applies to the pages. They are a different format of the same published material, offered so it can be read and cited accurately, and not a grant of anything beyond that.

5. Forms and what you send us

Three forms on the site reach the desk: a stock list, a buyer registration and a referral. Sending one costs nothing and commits nobody. We may reply, ask questions, or take an enquiry no further, and we are under no obligation to respond.

When you use a form, the information you give us needs to be accurate and yours to share. A stock list or a referral often carries someone else's details, so please only send what you are entitled to send, and do not send confidential material you are not free to pass on. Our privacy policy explains what we do with personal data on every route into the desk.

Our forms are screened for bots and abuse. That check is part of how the desk stays reachable, and getting round it is one of the things clause 2 asks you not to do.

6. Links out

Some links here go to other people's services: WhatsApp, our social profiles, and sites we reference in our writing. Those are run by other businesses under their own terms and their own privacy policies, and following a link means you are dealing with them rather than with us.

We do not control what those services do or what they publish, and a link is not an endorsement. You are welcome to link to this site, as long as the link does not suggest an association or approval that is not there.

7. Availability and liability

The site is provided as it is. We may change it, move a page, correct it or take it down, and we may do that without notice. We do not promise that it will always be available or uninterrupted, and access may be suspended for maintenance or for the security of the site.

So far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of this site, from relying on something published on it, or from it being unavailable. That includes loss of profit, loss of business and any indirect or consequential loss. Liability for a deal is a different matter and is dealt with in our terms of business.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. That includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top of this page is when it last changed. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
